Slight change of plans

When we moved into our house, it had two bedrooms. We took the larger bedroom and used the other bedroom as our guestroom after a little sprucing up.

The room was originally painted mental institution yellow with silver/gray carpet. Nice. It had one small closet.

I re-painted it a light mocha color ("museum" by Kwal Paint) and replaced the nasty carpet with saltillo tile. We also took the space of the kitchen pantry on the other side of the wall to make a larger closet for the room.

Once we added an official master suite and third bedroom on the other side of the house, our old bedroom became the guest room and this bedroom became a little studio of sorts to hold my small letterpress and paper cutter, and all the associated paper stuff that goes along with letterpress printing.

Now this room is undergoing another transformation so that it is better suited for it's new purpose in life, beginning this December. Wee! :)

Zeke Leonard bed

I discovered Zeke Leonard over at Design Sponge.

I am infatuated with his work, which uses reclaimed wood objects and things he finds in dumpsters. This bed is one of my favorite pieces, although some of his benches and lighting fixtures are pretty spectacular, too.

The bed is made of reclaimed red oak that had been church pews, and the headboard is an oak branch found in the woods. The legs of the bed and the reading lamp are made from reclaimed oak from hand-hewn square beams that were made more than a century ago. Love it.

Wilton House

More gorgeous work from Carrier and Company. This time, it's the Wilton House.

Love the weathered wood table and the moss. I think I've mentioned before (several times, actually) how much I love moss.

I'm seeing old tree stumps used more and more as small tables. And I love the idea of using a wall like this to divide the bed from another area in the bedroom. I tried to incorporate this idea in our house remodel, but there just wasn't room. Next house...

Barn conversion

Let's see: I love horses, barns, old weathered wood, and exposed beams. So, this place is nothing but eye candy for me.
