Big tree, small boy

We spent the most perfect fall afternoon at the park. I've been there a bazillion times but never noticed this cool tree until today.

It's big. And he's small. :)

Happy Monday

Happy Monday, everyone. I realized over the weekend that it's been a long time since I've been here. Gigi just finished her third week working here, and although she is doing a lot of stuff I used to do, I find that it just gives me more time to do all the other things I haven't been able to do, and not necessarily more "free" time for blogging and whatnot. Although I did manage to spend several nights catching up on old Fringe episodes and even watching a rented movie with the husband, as well as TWO different outings this weekend with the family, which is nearly unheard of lately.

One of the things I have gotten back to is some more printing. I'm working on some things for Christmas, but also a new line of boxes and packaging for party/wedding/shower favors. I'll have both generic stocked items as well as the ability to customize them for the event. I'll have several colors available, including white ink on kraft. I printed that combo yesterday and am in love with how it turned out. I'll post some photos of all those things soon.

In other printing news, here are some cute two-color invitations I did for a farm-themed birthday party for a 4-year-old. I love the little pink pig.

And totally not related to printing, here's one of my favorite new photos of Lachlan and his best friend during one of our afternoon trips to the park.

Afternoon stroll at park. I love #fall

I can't remember what he was pointing at, but you can probably tell from the photo that he was in a hurry to get to it! I hope you all have a great week!

18 months

Whoops. Another week went by without a post. Man, where does the time go?

Well, here's one place it goes. This little man recently turned 18 months old, and even though he spends most of the morning with the babysitter, he runs me ragged all afternoon. And I do mean runs. At his 18-month checkup his doctor watched him walk and said, "WOW! That's a really advanced walk for an 18-month old!" And through clenched teeth I replied, "That's because he walks about 10 miles a day!" He actually wore through the bottom of his last pair of shoes before he outgrew them. This kid is constantly in motion.

And when he's not in motion, he's busy planning his next (mis)adventure...
I hope you all have a happy weekend. The husband has returned from the Land of Oz so hopefully I can get caught up on all of my orders and also fit in some printing this weekend (Christmas cards!).

It's May 22 in Australia

Today it is May 22 in Australia. But if you're reading this and you reside in the United States, you know that today is May 21.

That means that today, May 21 U.S. time, is the husband's birthday. Not yesterday, which was May 21 in Australia but only May 20 in the U.S. I point that out because the husband, who is currently in Australia, told me today that his birthday was yesterday. Had he been born in Australia, that might be true. But he was born in Wyoming. On May 21.

So happy birthday, husband. Hope it is a wonderful one.

Stacking

Here's a little glimpse into my daily life. This is why I don't get a lot of blogging done lately. I'm either chasing him around, trying to figure out where he put the stuff he took from the pantry (where that bottle of vanilla extract ended up is a mystery to me!), or frantically searching for my phone to grab a video of moments like this.

Yes, indeed. He's a busy man. All that's missing is him whistling while he works, though the hiccups part way through were a nice touch.

This child has a definite thing for stacking, and he's getting so good at it! Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough while cooking dinner to get a photo of the spice jars he had stacked five high. It was a thing of beauty, and I'm not even sure I could have done it!

Happy weekend, everyone, and may you be lucky enough to have the day off on Monday!

One

I can hardly believe that Lachlan turned one year old yesterday. It really does seem like he just joined the family yesterday, although I'm sure that Sadie would say that it feels like he's been here for an eternity...

Here are a few photos I took of him while enjoying some sunshine yesterday. He definitely shares his dad's love of the great outdoors!

Moms are awesome

I guess I sounded pretty frazzled when I was talking to my mom last week. Between having a kid who doesn't like to sleep and all the projects I'm working on, I haven't been getting very much sleep lately. And I guess it was starting to show!

So she sent me this beautiful flower arrangement on Monday. She also sent a giraffe and some balloons and a little baggie of candy for Lachlan. (I, of course, inhaled the candy. Almond Joy, my favorite!)

This was just the little ray of sunshine I needed to pep me up and keep me going. I love all the flowers in the arrangement, especially these purple ones. But I can't for the life of me think of what they're called. Does anyone know?

Thanks, mom. You're the BEST! :D

Three years

Wow. Today makes three years of being married to this fella. I guess we'll need to get a little side-car for our cataraft now that we have a 6-month-old!

Happy Anniversary, Justin! Love you.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Happy Birthday to my mom, Barbara. She's the coolest lady around.

Helpers 001

Seriously. How many moms will come to visit you and spend their whole "vacation" helping you tile your floors?

Day 63 002

Have a great day, Mom. (Sadie says Happy Birthday, Grammy!)
