Several weeks ago I showed you the save the dates I did for a western wedding in Utah this September. Yesterday I finally got around to printing the invitations for them. All the pieces are printed in chocolate brown ink on ivory paper, and she plans to tie them together with a piece of turquoise twine with a cute little tag I made.
The couple is getting married in Moab, Utah, which is world famous for its red rock cliffs, so I incorporated the area's unique landscape at the bottom of the invitation. I love how it turned out!!
Things have been crazier than normal this week, between the unusually large number of printing jobs I have and the rapid pace of Paper and Present these days.
I know you all get a kick out of seeing what life is like in my little world, so here's a peek at what my kitchen looked like just as I was walking out the door to the post office today. In case you are wondering, that is about 25 packets of hot chocolate on the floor. Rearranging them between two different boxes kept Lachlan busy for at least 8 minutes...

Made my day
Well, if this isn't JUST the thing I needed to come along to totally make my day. Or my week. Or the month, for that matter.
I've been so busy lately that I haven't visited any of my usual blogs in a long, long time. So it's a good thing that Sarah emailed me this morning. You may remember these invitations I did for Sarah and Aaron last year.

They lived in New York but were having a destination wedding in Arizona, and Sarah had a very specific idea in mind for her invitations when she first approached me to print them for her. Well, these invitations, along with the rest of Sarah and Aaron's lovely and intimate wedding, are featured on the destination wedding section of Style Me Pretty today! You can go here to see the whole story.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to finish picking myself up off the floor. :)

Up Up Yours
I've been following the blog Up Up Creative for a good long while now. Julie, the woman behind it, is pretty amazing and I love reading her posts. She's doing something a little, um, crazy during the month of September.
She's letting people NAME THEIR PRICE for wedding invitations.
Yes, that's right. Name your price. She's calling it Up Up Yours. (ha ha ha.) It's a bit of an experiment, and when I first read of her plans to do this a few weeks ago, I thought it was a heck of a gamble. But Julie is hoping to turn the wedding industry on its head and start a conversation of value, particularly the value people place on handmade, quality, small business, and the ability to work one-on-one with a real, live human being.
If you're in the market for wedding invitations, this is probably the deal of a lifetime. And if you're not in the market for wedding invitations, perhaps you'll still support Julie by purchasing any of her other really fun products.
She has a fun little video that introduces her and her concept.
And when you're done with the video, perhaps you can swing by and see Julie at her blog or her store.

Sneak peek: Swish invitations
While my mom was here last week I was able to get a lot of printing done, including two more sample wedding invitations. Here's a sneak peek of the one I call "Swish."
Hope you all have a great weekend!
