Brisbane

My husband's job sometimes takes him to Brisbane, Australia. About this time last year, I went over there with him for two weeks. It was gorgeous.

It's cold outside today, and I am irritated because the last few days have been warm and sunny. I need to think warm, happy thoughts.

So here are a few of my favorite photos that I took last year.

This water lily was at a pond in the Brisbane Botanic Garden, which is just around the corner from where we were staying. Every time I look at this photo, I smile.

And I love the iguana. I had two iguanas when I was in college. Calvin and Oliver. Calvin was really friendly and would let me take him for walks and dress him up with little hats. Oliver? Well, he had the personality that one might expect from an iguana.

We rented a car one weekend to see some sights outside of the city. Our first stop was at the Australia Zoo that was created by the late Steve Irwin. It was as beautiful as you might expect, with absolutely fabulous habitats for the animals. Here are my two favorites from the visit.

  1. Love these pictures! Especially the water lilies! And thank you for sharing your funny iguana story.
I'm not one much for the cold either. I like it rainy or warm & sunny. Of course, our cold doesn't hold a candle to yours. I always say we are sissies here in California. And I like being a sissy in this way.

  2. It's funny. The photo of the kangaroo reminds me of Suni--big nose, big ears, big paws. She even lays with her paws crossed like that all the time. Same kinda sad expression too.

  3. Puts new meaning in the phrase ~just hangin'~

Great shots...and How fun is that...Brisbane!
