Day 27

It's been a little slow around here for a few days. But yesterday they started on the plumbing, which will be finished today.

This plumbing is for the new Rinnai tankless hot water heater we're getting. I'm pretty excited about that.

Plumbing for the double sinks in the master.

And the husband returned home from a business trip last Sunday and decided the windows in the bedroom were just too low, so we had Dan The Framer come back out and raise them all 6 inches. I guess not everyone is a short hobbit like me. :)

Next week Mr. Sparky comes for the electrical work.

  1. It's interesting to read posts from different parts of the country about supporting local/independently-owned businesses to see how it plays out in different areas. Here, we spend way more than $50 a month (unfortunately) at a farm north of us. We discovered it a few years ago and though not organic-certified (due to the cost, etc, of becoming certified) it is all antibiotic-free and free range. Anyway, in addition to feeling good about the health implications (esp since Ethan was born) and economically about supporting a small, family-owned business, I now agree with all the folks who say you really can taste the difference! Jon and I both love to cook and have - when time was of the essence - gone back to our local Safeway for steak, chicken, lamb. The back-to-back taste test is amazing - I've found you can't come close to the flavor of the free range food up the street. The only funny (?) part is that Ethan loves to visit the animals when we pick up our food... how old do you think he should be before we explain that he may be eating that duck he's chasing next week? :) -- Katrin
