Day 3

Few things in life are more fun than vacuuming concrete dust out of every nook and cranny in the house.

Today was concrete demolition day. They brought in a giant concrete saw and jack hammer to cut out the concrete around the old bathroom so that we can put in all the new plumbing for the two new bathrooms. They also cut a new trench into the garage area for the plumbing for the new master sinks, cut a trench to the side wall of the garage for the new waste pipe, and a trench through the living room so that we can run new water lines to the kitchen and also smooth out a 2" difference between the cement slab in the kitchen (original house) and the living room (a later addition).

The plastic sheeting in the trenches is to discourage Buffy the Cat from thinking she hit the litterbox jackpot.

The wonderful guys doing the work managed to leave me a water line and hot water heater for at least a few more days. Hallelujah!

  1. Those cats....they just think that it is all about them!
Thank God for my kitten...it is her & I these days....& to think that I was SO reluctant to consider getting another cat....
Oh Melissa, someday this will all be over & will be a good story...& for now, it is just going to suck! Go romp w/ your dogs as much as you can thru this process.
