Day 4

Fred is the guy doing a lot of the work on the house right now. The other day he had an idea: put the toilet back in (because life really sucks without one), but then leave everything open like it is now and turn the place into a mini roller derby arena. My husband loved the idea. No surprise there, I suppose.


Today they worked some more on the exterior perimeter of the garage. Because it used to be a carport, it was just constructed on cement piers for support. That was fine for a garage, but not for heated living space--or so the county says--so they have to dig out around the perimeter and pour 16" of concrete.

They also dug some deeper trenches inside for the water and drain lines, which the plumber will hopefully get to work on tomorrow.


Sadie likes to be in the middle of all the action and loves all the visitors we have these days. (Especially Fred, because he shares his grapes with her.)
