Mountain water

One of the best things about visiting the mountains of Colorado right now is that a lot of the snow is melting. And that means that water is everywhere, mostly in the form of spectacular waterfalls.

They come in all shapes and sizes. From the modest drops of 1 to 2 feet,

to drops of 3 to 4 feet,

to drops of 8 or 9 feet.

Some are short but wide,

and plenty of others are long and thin.

But they're all spectacular.

We also came across a few snow bridges formed by the creeks running under the piles of snow that slid down the mountain.

And tucked away above the Ouray Ice Park we came across this wonderful pond with the clearest water.

  1. Oooo Melissa, I absolutely LOVE waterfalls. There are definitely not enough of them around here. And that pond....I just want to jump in, except that I know that it is freezing. Maybe later....:)
