Elementary differential equations

I'm doing a little late summer cleaning and organizing around here, and last night I had a pretty major breakthrough. I was finally able to pry the husband's fingers off his old school books! I'm not sure why he felt the need to keep them all these years, although I guess that a book on Elementary Differential Equations could come in handy when you find yourself having trouble sleeping.

It took a tiny bit of convincing, but he finally agreed that we really don't need to keep these for Lachlan (!). Our life is now about 25 pounds lighter.

(Yes, that's right. He had two copies of the same calculus book...)

  1. You know, there's all sorts of things you could make with the pages of those books... :D

  2. So true, but I don't think I can stand the thought of hanging onto the pages (and weight!) of these books any longer. I do, however, have some plans for the covers of the hardcover books...

  3. ooh, now that sounds intriguing! Totally understand about not wanting to hang onto old textbooks... we have a stash of them that are just collecting dust also. I suppose we should have sold them at the time, but you know how it goes... you think you'll refer back to them and then never do.

  4. That's just what the husband argued--that he needed them for reference. I suggested he take them to work, but they never made it out the door of the workshop. And at this point, all of the information is either outdated or freely available online, so I'm getting rid of them.

I took a closer look at the condition of the covers of some of the books, and I'm not entirely sure my idea will work, but I'll let you know if it does! :)

  5. please share your secret!!! my husband is still holding on to outdated math, phsyics, and computer science books from 10 years ago. ridiculous!!!

Hi! Thanks so much for visiting and sharing your thoughts and comments!
