Other than books on pregnancy and how to maintain your sanity with an infant in your household, I haven't read a book in ages. But when I heard from a friend that her first book--a novel in stories--was published I rushed to get a copy. I read it in a day and a half, reading a little bit each time I fed Lachlan.
The book is fantastic, and I'm not just saying that because I know the author! I know Susi from the years I worked with her at Jhpiego, and she has tremendous experience with the people and places in Africa, which makes the stories that much better. You can get a copy of the book at Amazon, among other places, and to learn more about Susi and the book, and find out if she'll be doing a reading in your area, you can check out her website.
But don't take my word for it. Just ask the newest member of her sales team:

Gotta love a man who takes reading seriously. :)
ReplyDeleteOff to check out Susi's site. Heaven knows I should read a book every now and then instead of just blogs, and the topic sounds fascinating.
Just started reading this: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/55434
ReplyDeleteIt's a free e-download for now, in several different formats (even html). I think it's fantastic (though I have no idea if it's your style or not).

ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, Tasha. I started reading it during our morning feeding. Thank goodness for iPhones! :)
